I love old trees and love good paintings of them so I love this one , beautifully painted Tessa .

Like your brushwork Tessa

Very well captured and painted Tessa. Has a lot of character.

Excellent colours here Tessa, nicely done.

Many thanks Dixie, Heather, Chris and Stephen. Much appreciated.

Excellent Tessa! Harmonious colours.

Your tree is super Tessa! Like how you have portrayed the ivy, no particular details but we know it’s ivy. But my favourite part is the way you have enlivened the branches and twigs with flicks and dots, it gives the tree life and movement.

Thanks so much ladies! Fiona, I don’t think I could ever paint Ivy in detail: thank heaven for looseness!

That tree certainly has character.

Really good. Could be considered a plein air painting?

Thank you Sandra.

Thanks Sarah, yes as close as I could get!

Really good. An enviable lack of detail which I’ve never mastered.

Agree with Fiona and Andrew regarding detail. Good one!

Many thanks Andy and Martin. I was trying to capture the really dark areas In between layers of ivy.

Love your capture of these textures, so loose, so good Tessa.

Thanks again Willie and Spencer, I’m always happy to receive your comments and encouragement. 😊

Really good study!

Thanks Thalia.

A4 acrylic on watercolour paper started yesterday in Art Group and completed today at home. From life looking through the window of our village hall. I like the tangle of Ivy etc on the big old tree.
