He really jumps out of the paper and becomes real TaiMeng. I have some pastel card which I haven't used yet, I'm nervous it will "eat up " my pastels ( Unison). How do you find it, does it use a lot of pastel?

Hi Marjorie. I started it with under drawing, later shading it with layer by layer in order to get the right skin tone as well as to capture the lights and shadows. Sanded paper is meant to enhance the gripping effects for pastel work. It may takes up more pastels. However, you should try to explore it step by step because it is a part the learning process.
