still life in oils

Lovely painting Syd - love the Chinese figurine and that lamp is pretty nifty too! A good variety of objects in the composition.

Thank you Adele and Fiona. This painting and the selfie were painted at Dundee College of Art when I was twentyfour and just learning oil painting. They were all rolled up with others prduced then ,hence the cracks in this one and the tears on the edges of the oil paper on both.Those were the days.

Now then Syd (to steal a local expression of greeting) - I think this is an excellent still life painting, everything about it is really great. The glass in the lamp is wonderful and the Chinese figurine catches that ceramic look. Great work to be sure.

Oh wow Syd, this is marvellous! Such an interesting collection of objects, all of them painted beautifully, I like the folds on the cloth too.
