An art club portrait challenge, this is my painting of an enigmatic, beautiful old lady. I've never attempted to paint an old person before but it was her eyes that fascinated me, they drew me in. I wanted to try and capture that inner beauty that emanates from the heart and soul. It was challenging, but in the process it reinforced my belief that true beauty really is skin deep whatever your age. Painted in acrylics.

In late 2017 I joined an acrylic art class as a beginner and I've been painting ever since. I particularly enjoy impressionism, expressionism and fauvism and a lot of my art work reflects this. I also enjoying painting portraits. I would like to thank all POL members who help and encourage me.
