Fuschias and pansy

Fuschias and pansy

Lovely painting of these flowers. The fuscia on the left is my favourite as I love the way the paint has fused together on the petals. Nice work.

Thank you again. They are based on a book by Julie Collins which I love.

You have painted these flowers very well Susie. Thanks for your kind comments on my Peony. I sometimes mask the flower and any other highlights, then wet the paper. I then brush on my prepared colour or trickle it on and guide the flow. Let it dry then paint bits on top or negatively paint them. I like Ann Blockley and Shirley Trevena's books, also Wendy Taite is a good one to start with. Hope this helps. Carole.

Thanks for you help Carole. I've been trying to download some more pictures but there seems to be a problem with the server at the moment. Look out for one I've tried of cow parsley (which went wrong) but which I specifically did to try out a loose background. I think I need to practise the negative bit though.
