Beautifully painted hostas with good definition of leaft patterns Sue. Are they really that immaculate? Lucky you. Mine look like tattered lace again this year. There must be some very fat slugs hiding in my garden!

Thank you for your comments Julie, yes they are slug free, its the variety 'June' which is kept in a pot, but the slugs do give it a wide berth (just the odd nibble). I, like you, have some very tatty looking ones too.

Perfect hosta's......lovely Sue.

beautiful, contemporary it is.This is really eye catching and the green line in the frame is perfect. Great sucess with the real plant too!

This is stunning and the composition achieves maximum impact. Hostas are so architectural aren't they!

Lovely and you have got the leaf shape and colour perfect

Another beautiful modern take on botanical! Love it. As we are heading to winter my host as looking very bedraggled - will try this next summer. (Am in NZ)

What a nice surprise to have you comment on my work Elizabeth, my family live in Auckland and tell me your temperature and ours are about the same this year.

We have such beautiful Hostas this year, I was inspired to paint one. I thought something a little more contemporary this time; I took some close up photographs then cropped the photograph I used here even more to get this close up effect. I painted an initial watercolour wash then highlighted with watercolour pencil.
