Red Sofa by Stuart Currie

It's a lovely shadow pattern indeed and a slightly mysterious positioning of a sofa in an apparently empty room, like this a lot.

Interesting narrative of the absent sitters and beautifully painted

Great set of pictures.

So original with excellent shadows Stuart. There is also so much more to read into this interesting painting.

Love all the patterns from the light.

Such good shadows and light effects.

Thank you everyone, very much appreciated your kind comments.

Love the light and shadow pattern in this painting!

That's an interesting painting that works very well with the shadow lines, and has a sense of mystery to it.

Atmospheric Stuart.

This is a memorable watercolor. Its emotional impact reminds me of an Andrew Wyeth. Beauty in solitude. I love the directions of all the verticals of the walls, boards, and sofa; the way you have softened the distances. That grey-shadowed pillow gives wonderful contrast to the sofa. Even the diagonals on the ceiling are well considered. Great painting.

Light streaming through the blinds and over my old sofa. Can't resist a nice shadow pattern. Twenty years old and it's still comfy 😁
