High Dive by Stuart Currie

I can sense the movement here, Stuart, and you've captured some lost edges, which reinforces the energy. Nicely done.. This caught my eye, and I'm liking the amount of space you have allowed around the person, too.

Really captured movement and I like the way you've handled the figure and your colour palette

A dynamic gutsy subject to paint. I like the sense of the air, the sky all around that bent body. Arresting subject matter you handled beautifully.

Dynamic and arresting painting.

Thank you for your kind comments everyone, this one was fun to paint.

'High Dive'. I wanted to try and show motion and movement in a painting, and figured that an Olympic high diver could be a good subject. I deliberately painted the base colour orange - the complement of blue - then applied the sky colour in a way to partially allow it to show through underneath, just to add to the dynamic.
