Boat Graveyard 2 by Stephen Mason

I like your paintings a great deal and I can understand your fascination of the subject matter

I like this very much, and agree about the fascination of decaying objects being reclaimed by nature.

This is interesting - style, subject and colours.

The subject is excellent and use of colour superb.

I absolutely love the way you do these!

Great and interesting technique 👌

With entirely on the subject matter and love the way you’ve intermixed the boats with foliage etc

I like the patchy, abstract style of painting (the bottom half looks completely abstract) and also share your fascination with nature taking over derelict and decaying objects- makes for great painting subjects.

Thank you so much for your kind comments

This derelict wooden boat was located close to my first painting of the boat graveyard near Falmouth. The boat was almost hidden in the shrubs when I spotted it. I felt that I had to make it a little more obvious so removed some of the shrubs. Nevertheless, the decay made the nearby white of another neglected yacht stand out to be the focal point. While not for everyone, I am fascinated by the mix of man-made decay against nature.
