Another simple composition which works so well

Many thanks CA and Michael, the old trick with the foreground shadow invites the eye into the scene. I always find that painting from the imagination gives a bfresher result, probably because we do not imagine lots of 'clutter' to overcomplicate the scene?

Another good landscape Stephen. I like the subdued tones and swirling clouds. Do I detect a James Fletcher-Watson influence in the path and foreground shadow?

Thanks for your kind remarks Terry. I suppose we pick up things from various books etc. I thought the sky and trees looked a bit Alwyn Crawshawish, when I had finished.
