Many thanks everyone for your encouraging words. They have moved the old inn several timed over the years as Manchester has been transformed, there is a medieval bridge nearby which I think they are going to uncover again soon. Most of the ancient roads have been covered over but are still there.I took the photo for this from some steps behind Marks and Spencers, the area was refurbished after the IRA bomb destroyed quite a bit of the city centre. More peaceful times now thankfully.
