Many thanks Heather.

That’s pretty successful actually Stephen, good one.

Really good Stephen. Totally agree with the Seago comment.

This is great Stephen. A very brave thing to do to take on Seago.

Many thanks Brian, Fiona and Carole. Brave or foolish Carole?

That's what makes a great artist Stephen, keeping it all simple. Nice work anyway.

Seago was brilliant and I agree it looks so easy until one attempts a copy , I think Seago worked very quickly and confidently as not a brush stroke was wasted , Seago to me was a genius I would also rate the brilliant Trevor Chamberlin right up there with him. Having said that Stephen that’s a fine effort indeed and the washes are splendid , that light warm wash is lovely. Normally with figures I just touch the top of the head and shoulders with a touch of white gouache it gives a lovely final sparkle to the work , hope you do some more Stephen

Many thanks Alan and Dermot. Reading books about Seago, he obviously put body and soul into his work, which is often forgotten when we admire his and other top artists work.

Seago's always looks fairly simple until you try to copy it!

About the Artist
Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
