Very many thanks everyone for your kind comments which are most appreciated. I did add a few washes but the result isn't too sparkling as it is on cartridge paper. I remember Norman Battershill's books from long ago. I remember him combining charcoal and watercolour which I tried a few times. I might have a look on Amazon to see if there are still some second hand copies for sale. , thanks for reminding me Dennis.
