Many thanks, Ibolya, very good Guy, made me smile!

Very nice, Stephen.

Some subtle washes make a good atmosphere to this piece Stephen. I would still drop the lock gates in, it will add a strong focal point.

Many thanks Alan, I think it would be better to have another go at it sometime, could retitle this as 'Reflections in a Pennine Canal' perhaps!

Lovely atmospheric painting Stephen, the washes for the trees are spot on and the reflections in the water are expertly done. I would agree with you that a new painting is the the best course of action if you want to include the lock.

If you hadn't said anything , Stephen , who would have known ? The fuller tone value of the two smaller trees/bushes turns the eye anyway.

I agree with Ibolya.

Superb, Stephen,love canals...miss them!

Many thanks, Mike, Timothy and Thalia, for your encouraging thoughts. Swap you the canals for some sun Thalia! Although to be fair I am sat out in a sunny garden having lunch for the second day running!

Beautiful colours and washes, Stephen, it has a good atmosphere.

Lovely work Stephen, good reflections and colour

No lock required...is lovely as is :)

Many thanks Cesare, David and Sylvia.

Beautiful with those lovely colours becoming misty in the background.

A beautiful pastoral feel to this composition, Stephen.

Lovely softness and a still feeling Stephen, it’s a lovely watercolour.

Painted this at the art group tonight from an old photo. Realised towards the end that I hadn't noticed there was a lock at the far end, oops!
