Well a very nice work, Stephen, the fact it's a copy doesn't make it less valuable. Keep on!

That's a great little book Stephen, in fact they all are, and you have done Ron proud with this one. I wonder if he is still alive, I know he moved to the States, would be around 90 by now. Met him at my art club in the 80's, he did a demo, great character.

Clean, crisp and fresh, a really lovely piece, Stephen.

Even though it's 'after' another artist, I knew this was by you straight away Stephen. It's a gorgeous watercolour and it's most certainly 'yours'.

This is lovely, Stephen. Even though it's a copy it's beautifully painted, with such soft, harmonious colours.

Many thanks everyone for your very encouraging comments. I do think we can learn a lot by studying and copying the work of painters we are inspired by. In this case, I think Douglas Treasure's wet in wet technique is very fine and I think I learned a little by copying this.

Looks and sounds great Stephen

Fantastic, Stephen!!!!!!

Many thanks Dennis, Glennis and Jennifer, much appreciated.

Wonderful painting Stephen, lovely soft colours, love it :)

Stephen, I have that book in my collection and I've painted many from it over the years. You did a super job and as mentioned above you've made it your own. Great middle distance light in there too.

Many thanks Maria and Roland, much appreciated.

You've handled this beautifully Stephenits a very accomplished piece of work

Sorry about the typo In my comment Stephen

Many thanks Dermot, don't worry about typo's, I'm always doing them!

About the Artist
Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
