I honestly don't think it has Stephen, it has a lovely feeling of light, space and peace. In fact, I wish I had painted it!

And gained a lot in the painting Stephen King

Sorry the Autofill put king

Many thanks Fiona and Dennis for your encouraging thoughts.

This really caught my eye Stephen. Excellent composition and beautifully subdued winter colours and shadows. The figures bring it all together very well.

many thanks Terry, we must be due for one of your super watercolours soon?

i think this is a wonderful work especially the light and the shadows.

I'm catching up, so I haven't seen the original sketch yet, but this looks pretty stunning to me Stephen! I love the composition and the brilliant play of light and dark. It's certainly one of my favorites in your recent works.

Many thanks once again Seok for your encouraging comments.

I've just commented on your latest version of this one and it has a very different feel. This one seems to depict earlier in the day - say the sun around lunchtime - warmer and less chilly. An interesting idea to have several goes at a subject as each painting produced adds something new to the table.

Many thanks once again Thea.

Very nice. Excellent trees particularly.

Many thanks Jem much appreciated.

I decided to paint a line and wash from the sketch I posted a few days ago. I quite like it but it has lost the freshness of the original I feel.

Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
