Such a nice scene Stephen. I like the deep shadows and the pop of purple which makes this scene eye catching . Don't put those pastels away .....

After looking at pastel work in this months Artist magazine and on the gallery recently. I thought I would dig my pastels out and have another go at this scene I tried in charcoal a while ago. I did add some water in areas to get a Gouache feel.

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
