Nicely done, Stephen. A lovely palette and the paper does give the foreground some good texture.

Very good pastel, Stephen.

Good stuff Stephen, this is rather good, and it doesn't matter a damn what you draw on as this shows only too well.

Nice work Stephen, I know when I used pastels way back I found them messy , but you've turned out a nice painting, well done.

Lovely colours Stephen, love the way you've allowed the shapes to be indistinct.

Many thanks everyone for your encouraging thoughts, much appreciated.

A very nice dabble Stepehen. The one thing I am appreciating with pastels, is the speed at which you can complete a painting. I like how you have left some of the board to show through, it describes well the tussocks, bumps and hollows of the vegetation perfectly.

Many thanks Fiona, I've just tried a different method, using the pastel wet, good fun.

Great attempt Stephen. Lovely.

Many thanks, Henry and Kirstie. I presume :) is a smile?

After seeing Fiona's impressive foray into pastels. I thought would have a quick dabble but could not find any pastel paper, so quickly did this on the backing board of an old watercolour block.
