Scaredy-cat! Stephen, how HUGE, is HUGE? Smashing sketch though, I like the mellow colour of the stone. Have the new owners started knocking it about yet, hope they don’t spoil the convent.

I thought that would be your comment Fiona! I always liked Spike Milligans comment in the war when an officer accused him of cowardice "I told you when they called me up, you don't want me, I'm a coward!" Luckily, the charity who bought the convent are keeping the exterior pretty much as it is. The flying beast was pretty big, I have heard some of the foreign hornets have drifted over here the last few years. I might add a bit of ink to this one.

That is ink to the drawing, not the Hornet, although I could perhaps spear it with a dip pen?

Lol.....poor hornet 🐝! Would look good with some ink Stephen, the sketch, not the hornet.

Like this Stephen but I think you should include the hornet!

Thanks Sandra, I think my hand would tremble too much. Have just added some pen work and strengthened the colours.

First go in the garden this year. Started as a quick pencil sketch but as usual ended up more complicated and added some watercolour. Had to abandone things when this HUGE hornet thing started taking an interest in things and me!
