Watendlath, Lake District

Stephen you really are busy. Nice recession in the background fells. If the packhorse bridge is the subject maybe the house would recede if knocked back a bit and the bridge strengthened tonal or hue wise. It was good I think to strengthen the foreground but ? even more.

many thanks Jenny and Alan for your kind remarks. I think Alan is right about the buildings being too strong but I will probably mess it up if I try to lift off colour now.

Lovely rounded composition

I think this must be the most painted bridge in the U K. Really like the lovely , misty background.

many thanks Michael and Sylvia for your encouraging comments.

Hang on Studio Wall

Painted this tonight at the art group, I added a glaze across the foreground later as it was a little pale, I think the glaze improved things a lot.

About the Artist
Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
