Loosely inspired by van Gogh's paitnting Grass and Butterflies this delicate piece has been constructed using overlapping 'blades' of coloured acid-free tissue paper. One fellow student thought there might be about 1000 strips of paper ... (please!) ... it was more like 10000 and each one stuck individually. I have subsequently reworked the image on a much larger scale in acrylic using different mark-making techniques to achieve a variety of effects.
