I love the shapes you've created, general composition and your idea of the three varieties' leaves is very interesting. I like the colours too. For me, they accentuate the shapes and are very expressive. :-)

I like your composition and shapes too. This has a commercial feel to it, I could see it being used as a material print. I also get very cross when I can't reproduce the colours accurately. It seems to happen more with pencils. Well done anyway.

Scanning can present problems - I usually photograph my pictures, in natural light; just seems to work better. But I think the colours work fine here; what really matters in this sort of thing is the composition and drawing, and they're spot on.

Thank you all for your encouragement. I feel the confidence to try another one with different leaves and also to upload one I've done of an apple and pear in the same colours - but will photograph it outside, Robert.

Hello Sian! I put my paintings on the floor near the window but not in the direct sunlight to take photographes.Of course the colours are never the same as in the original work but pretty good.Your colours in this one go very well together, just keep on painting. x

I agree with the above comments, never use flashlight or artificial light to photograph your work. Like Satu, I use sunlight. Your colours here go very well with each other. Nice drawing too!

15/10/10 Ash, oak, chetnut leaves in coloured pencil. I could not get the scan I originaly did accepted and the colours aren't quite right in the flash photo. But do they go with each other? (they are in the same tin of Derwent pencils along with black and white)
