Thank you very much Dawn, Ros, Eileen, Cheryl for your kind and helpful comments. As I type this I can see big red flowers in the garden outside the window. And I am told the person who was on the DVD I watched is Soraya French - but she was using acrylic inks which I don't have. I prefer to look at the flowers than the DVD.

Still, she inspired me. As does looking at pictures on painters online.

Nice one Sian! I have met Soraya several times when we have had her for demonstrations and its always a pleasure to watch her painting. Your poppies are lovely and it's good to be inspired by other artists and to try their styles. You always learn something that can be used in your own work.
