Nice - I particularly like the way you've dealt with the different lighting on the bails. The subject and format (not so much the execution) is very Chris Geal.. whose work I admire.... www.chrisgeall.com (I think). I do like the wide angle lens look into the sun... did you do this from one photo or did you build a panoramic? Finally - how big is it?

Love the format and your composition. Fabulous lighting and sky!

Thanks Ade, The painting is 8" x 22" on primed MDF. I sacraficed a lot of foreground from one photo to get this panoramic view and give a 'big' sky. This was the first time of using MDF board as a support (instead of canvas) and have been converted. You have no limits to size and shape! P.S looked at Chris Gealls site and was very impressed by his work - thanks for the tip.

That sky is just superb! And the format really does add to the drama. The sky is everchanging but you have managed to capture a particular moment in time.

I always want to paint interesting skies but have not quite got it yet. You on the other hand have a talent for all sorts of subjects ! Your sky is wonderful !!

We get some lovely skies on top of the North Downs in Kent, and this sunset last autumn looked stunning against the hay field.

I’ve always had a creative streak ever since I can remember and enjoyed art from an early age. Although I’d love a career in art I’ve had to persevere in my life as a carpenter, but I guess there’s some creativity in that 😁 I hope you enjoy my galleries
