Wow a difficult view to capture from life Seok but you have done well.

You have a fear of ellipses Seok. I can tell but it's an acquired skill and the more you do it will improve. Practice all you can, I don't like them either and the humber of times I have corrected loco wheels ...wow! This scene however works from the plein air point of view and actual depiction of the local modern and lovely place it is. You did it well

Thanks very much, Stephen and Derek! And Derek, thanks for the encouragement. I think my fear of ellipses dooms me to failure before I even start. The trick, I think, is not to think to hard about it. Unfortunately for me, it's easier said than done!

Thanks for sharing this image of Singapore and well done ! I like the contrast of the grey steel and concrete with the delicate green trees at their base. I too hate ellipses but mine weren't captured from life! (ps Many thanks for your lovely comment!)

No idea why you think you have failed with this one, I love the contrast between the sky, wheel, buildings and greenery, super work as per usual!!

It's always so interesting to see your good, interesting paintings here Seok. It's never good to be worried about painting certain shapes or objects. You can paint anything you want. I know that because I've seen your lovely work here. This elipse shape isn't perfect but it doesn't matter at all, it's a painting and your impression of the scene. A jolly good one as well!!

Ellipses are the hardest shape to draw Seok! It's hard enough to draw the oval shape of a saucer, cup or flowerpot let alone this big wheel! Well done Seok!

Great title Seok ;) I think your ellipse is great! I also like the soft steely colour with the hints of pinks.

Thanks so very much for your very encouraging comments, Avril, Debs, Louise, Sarah and Carole, you do wonders for my ego!

Now this can't have been easy Seok but, as always, you have succeeded. Well done!

A striking image and I am inclined to agree with you that it spoils the skyline of the other buildings. I have been on the London Eye and it is a wonderful structure but these contraptions do have to be placed carefully in a city so as not to overwhelm. Well done for getting out there and painting this plein air - a great result.

Lovely watercolour Seok, as always

Eyesore or not, your painting is excellent, even under duress!

Thanks very much, Christine, Thea, Petra and Gudrun!

I rather dislike this pirated version of the London Eye in Singapore. Copycats simply rile up the artist in me, and I think this particular structure spoils our skyline. Painted en plein air -because my art teacher made me do it to get over my fear of ellipses. I was tempted to call this piece "The Singapore Sore Eye"....
