Beautiful painting Seok, great details and colours

Very nice study Seok and a touching narative too.

Beautiful little painting Seok. I shall think of these ladies when I have my cups of tea.

Nice one Seok.

Lovely colours Seok, and the detail in the basket is amazing. Touching explanation too.

Seok, you must bring a book out and call it "Seok's travels". I would love to buy it. Your paintings are all superb and should be in a book so that many people can admire them. Your talent should not be hidden :)

I agree with your sentiments about the Tamils in Sri Lanka. their fight with the Singalese has gone on since about the 12th century AD - even longer than the Irish republicans against the English. Lovely colours in the painting too.

Lovely painting Seok, love the colours.

Beautiful painting as always Seok and I am sure this lady would be really delighted if she could see it!

These illustrations of life in foreign parts are wonderful - little gems in their own right, but I do agree that they would be wonderful used to illustrate a book of your travels - how about it?

Sign me up for that book Seok!! What an adventure it would be and in colour too!! Beautiful.

I agree. There is an article in The Artist magazine about self-publishing ....

Thank you very much, everyone!

Hi Seok :-) well im not going to insist you publish a book :-p however............. i do think it would be lovely to share your knowledge, many people would appreciate your paintings and your knowledge, you seem to always have an important meaning to each one of your paintings - this adds even more interest - for me anyway :-) The National Geographic would love you i am sure :-)

Loving this latest series of yours Seok, I always enjoy the story behind them too.

Beautiful colours and magnificent detail especially in the basket. I learn so much about your travels, not only from your watercolours but from your very interesting narrative that goes with them.

Beautiful Seok, you have captured this lady perfectly- if only she could see it I am sure she would love it.

Thanks so very much, Rebecca, Debs, Val, Denise and Jenny!

Another lovely addition. The colours are wonderful.

Thanks very much, Avril!

I love your paintings of people Seok.

Thank you very much, William!

A Sri Lankan Tamil tea plucker in Nuwara Eliya. These "Plantation Tamils" are among the most exploited and disenfranchised people of Sri Lanka, earning minimal wages for long hard hours in the tea plantations. Yet despite their very difficult lot, these ladies were always gracious, hospitable, friendly and obliging when approached for a photograph.
