Seok, if I lived up to 100 I wouldn't be able to do what you are doing now. This drawing is so beautiful and delicate and full of life. Graceful! How lucky also to have found your former teacher and he is lucky too to have such a talented pupil.

What a brilliant drawing, love it.

A very accomplished drawing Seok, I am always surprised when you mention your art teachers and the classes you go to as, as far as I'm concerned, you are a natural!

Excellent drawing Seok!

I agree with Satu this is so lovely Seok, fabulous detail

Thank you so very much, everyone!

A real beauty - you show great skill at this and hope to see more.

This is a beautiful drawing, Seok. Just like the rest of your work, I like it very much. You can do everything, it is always a success!!!!

Perfection Seok, this is brilliant! So pleased I trawled back to see all the paintings I missed this last few days, this was worth it!

This is an extremely accomplished drawing, Seok, so I should be content that your drawing skills are very well developed. I also think you should be teaching the classes rather than attending them!

Thank you so very much, Michael, Mia, Carole and Thea!

Lovely work Seok and thanks for the helpful advice about the diptych - I would not have thought of that!

Seok boy! You can draw...you have always been able to draw. I've seen your paintings which are excellent. If you can draw with a brush you certainly can draw with a pencil. So glad that you have renewed an old relationship and your drawing skills are going to be even better. Love this, like I do most of your work. Happy drawing!

Very impressive! Like all your pieces ! The tonal values make this so exciting and all the different shading marks. You always manage to produce brilliant work with all your differnt teachers . I look foreward to your next "lesson"!

Thanks very much, Debs, Stephen and Avril!

Seok, this is brilliant, why are you beating yourself up about it. You can draw and very well too. Carry on the the good work!

I'm so envious of your talent Seok you can turn your hand to anything and should be giving lessons not taking them :) This is an excellent drawing.

Thanks very much, Fred and Val! Fred, I wouldn't have been able to draw this as accurately if I hadn't gone through Daniel's lesson on checking negative spaces, so I'm very grateful for the progress I made as a result of his classes. Thanks again for the encouragement.

I'd been wanting to do something about my drawing skills (or lack thereof) for a while, but it's difficult to find a good drawing teacher here in Singapore. The only drawing lesson I'd taken was about 8 years ago, when I first took an oil painting workshop with British artist, Daniel Scott, in Barcelona. In those days, I could paint by making shapes on the canvas, but couldn't draw to save my life. Daniel took me through a drawing exercise one afternoon and changed the direction of my art completely. From not being able to draw a line, he got me up and running to draw the skyline of Barcelona. However, since that time, I'd been getting by on my own. I was therefore delighted, a couple of months ago, to find Daniel now based in my neck of the woods. We re-established contact and he's been taking me from where we left off 8 years ago. After such a long layoff, I found the gnome drawing, which I posted last week, really difficult. Our second lesson, which resulted in this drawing, was all about how to build a drawing using only negative spaces. It was excruciating, but I found the exercise immensely helpful. I tell myself that in about 40 years, I'll get the hang of it, lol!
