I had a little holiday and missed this , I'm glad I had the patience to trawl through so many pages, I really like this drawing of this wonderful old door, was it a Coptic church Seok ?

Thank you very much, William! I hope you had a good holiday. In answer to your question, I think it was the doorway to a building in the Coptic part of Cairo, but I don't think it belonged to the Hanging Church or the Holy Crypt, which were the two Coptic churches in that part of town. I am almost done with a watercolor version of this door and will post later today, but I must confess I prefer this to the watercolor. Somehow I always find that a second attempt never works as well as the original first inspired work!

OMGosh - LOVE THIS! Youe detailed pencil work is superb. I can feel that you loved drawing this door and archway. Exquisite and a joy to look at.

Thank you very much, Alison!

Wicked! This is how I want to be able to draw doorways - I have an image of one from a small French castle I know and must try it again - lovely work
