I like the contrast of the roof tops, lovely colours Seok and painted with a palette knife, very good. I have been to Singapore a few times whilst we were in Penang, Malaysia for 6 years in the 80's..

Many thanks for your kind words on my latest postings - well I am equally envious of your skill with a palette knife - this is quite superb and, despite your previous comments anent the use of greens, your trees here are spot on and complement the warm tones of the buildings. This is a different Seok to the skillful watercolours I have admired and is of the same high standards.

I think you are so brave to paint en plein air Seok! Love the contrast of trees and roof tops, well done.

Beautiful colours and light - a lovely painting!

Lovely colours, the terracotta rooftops and the green trees. Beautiful Seok.

What a delightful painting Seok! Really beautiful colours and very much in harmony with each other. The orange and turquoise roof tops make the painting sing. Lovely!

This is lovely Seok- the trees and buildings all go together so well.

What a beautiful painting colours subject matter all just perfect!!!!!:)Linda

Wow, en plen air, in oils with a palette knife - that's impressive! However, probably a more pleasant experience in Singapore than in the UK! I agree with Michael re the trees.

Vibrant and full of lively artwork. Just lovely :)

I agree with everyone, beautiful painting Seok, lovely texture and colours

Lovely Seok, the palette is very complimentary. Thank you so much for your comments on my latest postings.

This is fabulous, Seok. Didn't know you painted in oil too and en plain air!!! Stunning!

Thanks so very much, everyone! You are all very generous. Stephen, I assure you painting in Singapore is as unpleasant as it is painting in England! Having done both, I can say that painting in the hot sunshine, followed by a sudden torrential shower that appeared without warning (which happened when I was completing the sky for this painting) is as bad as painting at Pin Mill sitting on a narrow little ledge while the wind was blowing through my three layers of clothing! The upshot is that I hate plein air painting. I just do it because everybody tells me it's good for me!

Perhaps the uk is'nt so bad after all! I suppose we are never happy wherever we live are we? I think a quick watercolour, at a nice spot, on a fine (not too hot) day is ok but how many times do we get that combination? - ok back to my photo of Castle Combe!

Well done Seok on this palette knife painting, the trees and sky are terrific. Thankyou for your comments on my last two paintings, well appreciated.

I'm far too messy with oils to even think about attempting painting en plain air, I get it everywhere LOL This is super, as Satu says your chosen palette makes the painting sing and the knife gives lots of lovely texture.

Lovely painting-as mentioned it must have been a challenge doing it outside and I think you have carried it off beautifully.

Thank you very much, Fred, Val and David!

Really nice work Seok.

Thanks very much, Denise!
