Furzey Cottage by David Cotton
Furzey Cottage (Minstead, New Forest National Park), built around 1560, is steeped in history. Its timbers came from ancient Tudor shipyards, and the floorboards were once ship decking. A 1860 discovery during renovation revealed ceilings lined with Mormon newsprint from Salt Lake City. Visitors can explore the cottage to see the original fireback and bread oven—can you imagine a family of 13 once living there.
