A lovely pastel - I really like the way you have picked out the blue in the Labrador's coat. This is really smashing. Is it on blue paper?

As a dog lover, this is a fabulous portrait of a lovely dog. I love the way you have thought 'outside the box' in your use of colour for the coat. Do you do pet portraits professionally?

As a fan of pastels I've just checked out the rest of your gallery and admire them all, but I was drawn to this one as we had a dog called Tess, sadly no longer with us.Her coat is beautiful, sooo silky, excellent pastel skills.

I just found this picture in the sidebar..I missed it when it was posted. As a dog artist myself, owner of dogs for over 44 years, a dog judge and utterly besotted by dogs, I can truly say this is the best I've ever seen. It's truly wonderful from the gentle proud expression to the fantastic use of colour in the coat. Absolutely stunning. I'm off to have a look at our gallery.

Lovely painting, I too had a golden retreiver 'Jess' sadly no longer with us. Lovely fur, makes you want to stroke her. Can I ask what pastel pencils you use?
