Superb painting Michael.

Wonderful, you always paint such fantastic seascapes capturing drama and amazing seas

Absolutely stunning painting. Full of atmosphere, the sky is brilliant.

Love the sun breaking through the clouds. And reflected on the sun. The implied speed of the steamer. Boatiful.

Brilliant painting full of atmosphere. Love the sky and the light

Stephen Hulse has said exactly what I intended to say, and for once I'm happy to play Sir Echo - it is indeed a superb painting; the boats, the sea, brilliantly painted.

Really lovely work, Michael. Bursting with power and life in the sea, and speed of the rescue craft. Such accuracy in the scale of everything, and precision with the rescue vessel. I love paintings that make me feel that I am there.

Brilliantly painted!

shows the power of the sea against the tug

16 24 ins Acrylic on mdf. Painted purely for pleasure and a chance to get back to larger scale. An imagined scene. The title comes from the flag flying from the main topmast. I signals a need for assistance of some sort. I believe ship master were loth to signal the request for a tow when their vessel was in trouble since the tug master might try to claim salvage rights.
