US Coast Guard Cutter Manning Off Gibraltar Spring 1918 by Michael Daley
4 Feet x 2 feet on Italian linen fine grain canvas. Manning was part of a Squadron based at Gibraltar to provide convoy escorts to and from the UK. Very little reference material exists for this vessel. Some not so good photos so some parts of this are a best guess on my part. A commissioned work for an American living in Sweden whose grandfather sailed on the Manning. My studio is 10 x 14 so fitting this in was a real challenge!
