Lovely painting Satu i love the close up water at the front very effective. I like the way you've angled the sky toward the rocks all in all a very nice painting you should be well pleased with this Satu, well done.

Yes - it works for me - and that red dot is spot on !!

Just spotted this Satu! I think you've captured the feeling of those waves crashing against the rocks very well. It's very atmospheric.

Thank you very much Dennis, Michael and Christine for your kind comments!

I like the colour tones in the rocks very much, and the effect of 'sparkles' in the waves as they hit the rocks. It's good to get out of the comfort zone, and see what transpires. Lovely painting!

Another stunning piece, Satu! I love the design - a simple layout, but so vibrant and full of movement. Excellent, excellent work!

So fresh and free Satu! I like the texture in the waves and also the red figure.

You're absolutely right about the difficulty of painting waves -- I live by the sea, and still have trouble with them: they're either too (as you rightly say) chocolate-boxy, or they turn into uncontrollable froth which looks as if a cotton-wool container has burst over the scene. We'll both have to practise some more, but I think you have a distinct edge over my last one! (Unfortunately.....)

PS - the flying foam in this one works well.

Vive le difference!! Well done for trying something different Satu - I like it a lot!

I can see exactly what this painting is about and how you arrived at the title. Wonderful work with such energy, Satu.

Thank you so much Ann, Seok, Sarah, Robert and Debs for your very generous comments! Much appreciated!

I'm feeling a little seasick looking at this Satu so I think you've got the waves just right :) That sky is pretty special too.

Thank you very much Thea and Val for your lovely comments!

Love the colours and movement Satu. Well done.

Thank you very much Dympna!

I have noticed people trying something different and out of their comfort zone so I have done the same with waves. I have done seas and water in general but never waves and I must say that they are difficult to paint. They very easily become 'chocolate box' or end up muddy.I didn't do a good job out of this but at least I tried like the others here have done.
