Very striking image Satu. I like the vase shapes as well as the actual shapes on the vases formed by the running paint. As for the background, I wouldn't like to advise. You'll have to make your own mind up :) Put the painting to one side and decide later. That's what I'd do :)

Love the formal shapes and the contrasting patterning - lovely image Satu

I love the vases but can't say about the background as I just see it pale grey on my screen. Sorry I can't help, Avie.

Love this! I think it's perfect as it is but Louise's advice is good if you're not sure put it away for a while and look again with new eyes after a few days... but I like it :)

Lovely and eyecatching painting Satu, I really like it

I really like this piece, Satu! It captures tone and form accurately yet without being slavishly photographic. Well done!

Instantly recognisable as your style/ bottles, Satu. It is good to see the versality of acrylics. Thanks.

Thank you Louise,Michael, Avril, Lesley, Petra, Seok and Sian for your encouraging comments! They are always so very welcome!

Hello Satu, I just wanted to thank you for your comments on Sibelius. I'm afraid I only see the watercolours on POL, so I miss your work - which is so pure and expressive! Anyway, as you are a Finn I take your compliments very seriously. I'd love to visit Ainola - I will before long. I wrote my thesis (30 years ago) on Sibelius' 7th Symphony and I transcribed it for 2 pianos. Sadly I never found anyone who could play it with me!

Acrylic painting on canvas 20 x 24 ins. An other black and white effort with only a tiny hint of Unbleached titanium for the background. It looks a bit blue in the photo but is nearly all white. I made a one minute drawing on canvas and then had a couple of hours of fun playing with runny paint. What do you think of the background, shall I leave as it is ?
