This is good Sarah and great for a first attempt

I would be very pleased to produce this, its superb. If this is your first attempt I look forward to seeing much more of your watercolour landscapes.

Thank you Heather and Paul for your lovely kind comments.

Well done you Sarah, you have managed good washes, tone and distance. If you want to go a step further, try it again and add one more colour.....Light red. Give one of the figures a light Red jacket and as you paint the foreground stroke in some medium light red.......Oh and also add one more bird as it helps to have uneven numbers. I hope this helps. Good luck

Sorry Sarah I should have explained why light Red. Its because it is opposite on the colour wheel.

Thank you David for your advice and for taking the time to comment; I may well try that, and will certainly bear it in mind for future paintings.

My first attempt at a watercolour landscape (seascape), an exercise from 'The Watercolour Enigma' by Stephen Coates. (Shared with kind permission of the author.)
