The effect you've achieved on the wood is fantastic

Definitely the wood and the beach - excellent

I love your paintings such awareness of texture, how did you get the effect of the beach?

Those pebbles drove me mad! I started of almost trying to draw each pebble, gave up and marked out instead the form of the bank of shingle with washes and then dotted in lighter and darker paint - remembering to make the dots smaller and vaguer as they got futher into the distance. Finally a thin glaze of white pushed thedistance further back and softened the edge wher the beach meets the sky. The wood came easier, I have done a lot of etching and so the cracks in the wood felt natural to me! Colin

Thank god I'm not the only one who struggles with this kind of thing. I'll try your technique next time. Happy painting

Very realistic

I love the angle this is taken from; such a nice change from sand and sea and sky.

I like the clearness of the painting the wood is so realistic you must have a lot of patience for the peebles

I am impressed by your style. Keep it up! The wood is so realistic and also the pebbles.

Outstanding work
