Hello Ruthy. Thankyou for your comment on Horsey Mill North Norfolk. I am very interested in your work I particularly like this one. I would very much like to see some mounted work as is makes all the difference. Do you sell your work and if so have you got your own web site. Great work.

thanks.... loved your picture.......no i've never mounted any of my work, there all in sketch books.... all different shapes and sizes....not sold any, did'nt think i was good enough..... not set up a web site......as i'm unsure how to go about it........ thanks for your lovely comment....

Hi Ruthy. I agree with David's comment above - mount some work - even displaying the work flat will help. I'm impressed with your on site drawings, though! Thanks for your comment on the gardens.

It is good to see a sketchbook being used, as the sketchbook seems to have gone out of fashion, and that is sad. I use mine all the time. I love your drawings, and clearly you derive a great deal of pleasure from sketching, putting ideas down on paper. That's brill! Now, as David intimates above, try placing a mount or two around your finished drawings, you will be pleasantly surprised to see what a difference a mount does make to the overall look of a piece of artwork. It is what I am constantly telling my students. As someone once remarked to me many years ago, 'never discard a painting until you have placed a mount round it'! By the way, Ruthy, thank you for your comment on my 'Castle Combe' watercolour, it was very much appreciated. Keep on drawing, pushing those ideas out. Fill those sketchbooks.

Hi Ruthy Surprised i am, to have suddenly come across your pictures and sketches. I think your line work is very exciting, keep filling your sketchbooks! These are all interesting drawings you have produced, and thank you for all your inspiring comments you have sent me, Debbie.

Hi Ruth, I also like your sketches and as Erik says above, a mount will enhance the picture even more. Many thanks for your comment on my seascape painting, one of my earlier works. Norman.

Hi Ruthy, thanks for your comments on my paintings. I like this sketch it has a lot of potential for a full painting.

Its all there ,well done! A solid picture.

Thanks for you comments on my portfolio Ruthy. This is a lovely strong drawing and needs making into a painting! Go for it!

I could go on all night about this one, it's really good. No time right now though. Just one little point, watch your windmill sails be a little 'sketchier' with them. they are high in the sky and not quite in proportion. Otherwise the picture is great.

thanks for your lovely comments..........

I hadn't seen these boats before. Your sketch is great coz it captures the essence of "boatiness" of the Broads, that inland nautical, busselly spirit of the place!

I like this sketch very much, Ruthy. I love penwork.

A lovely sketch Ruthy I love the strong lines

I would call myself mainly self taught, with a library's worth of books and dvd on the shelf. I've completed three online courses which has given me the desire for more. I have a vast collection of sketch books large and small. I love to work in pen and pencils mainly, but have discovered a love for…
