Hi Ruthy...I'm very pleased to see these new additions to your gallery...Camels? nasty biting spitting uncomfortable things to ride...Lizards? will always get my vote...I like this.

A good drawing Ruthy. As Phil says nice to see new additions. I did laugh about the Camel - I have been on one. Didn't like it at all.

Another good drawing, Ruthy. Really I prefer camels to lizards....you can see camels coming and get out of the way, but lizards..............too fast for me!

Hi Ruthy it I agree it's good to see these new aditions to your gallery...lovely drawings indeed...camels can be nasty burgers indeed...have been on one once and that was enough...I love the feel of reptiles they feel like silk

Nice to see your sketches again, this one has lovely tones. Great drawing.

And I like camels AND reptiles, so my joy is complete.... Like this; do you ever use several grades of pencil in one drawing? I think it can make life a bit hard if we stick to just the one - Derwent Graphic make a very good F grade, which (has to be sharp!) is very useful when worked with the mid-range Bs; and for a really dark but not smeary, slippery black, the Mars Lumograph 8B (by Staedtler) is just excellent. Haven't got shares in Derwent or Staedtler, I swear. Used with a light touch, and your usual range, I suggest you give 'em a try: you have a strong, direct style which I think would benefit from them.

You have rendered the texture of this reptile very well. They are not good looking creatures I'm afraid!!!

thankyou all for your lovely comments

I have a vast collection of sketch books large and small. I love to work in pen and pencils mainly, but have discovered a love for…
