Like it. Middlesbrough 1963 I can imagine. I remember taking back the Lowcocks' lemonade bottles, though my memory would suggest they were way too large to fit in a coat pocket. But then again, my memory also says that Mars bars were SO huge that you took them home to cut in half. At sixpence a go, of course, they were are special treat.

A lovely painting and a great nostalgia trip, I loved taking the pop bottles back . All the treats we had for a few pennies. Tony mentioned Mars bars , I think Wagon wheels were much bigger back then, no’s the fit a old style mini . Superb work Ruth .

Love it. We were very naughty . Lived close to a pub, snook into their yard helped ourselves to bottles went around the front and got money back…could do this all day long. No CTV in those days, someone must have seen us and told on us and it was stopped. Wicked childhood .
