This has quite a surreal and magical quality about it Ruth, half expecting Fairy folk to be skipping about, a really smashing painting.

Acrylic on paper. An old childhood haunt at Poulton-le-Fylde. We used to climb this sloping fence - very scary as it sloped in steeply to play in the wood. In 1942 we were sure we had seen a German soldier hiding there!
