Super cohesive painting. Love the lots of small areas of detail which keep the eye moving about the painting and the addition of the darker trees gives a nice emphasis. You are truly are blessed if you have lived in such a lovely place.

Thank you Thea. I didn't exactly live behind the large rock on the right, would have been happy to, though. I was within easy reach of areas like this and have always been a country dweller, apart from a heart-rendingly miserable time working in London, fortunately short!

Thank you all so much for your cheering comments. I think the fact that I am painting from memory (and therefore feelings evoked by the memory,) and not with the subject in front of me with all its distractions, leaves me free to hopefully paint the emotions I felt at the time I was there....if that makes any sense?? I'm certainly a daydreamer in many ways. (sometimes a handicap if I take that too far!)

What a lovely memory you must have of this place it's such a lovely painting too. It would make a lovely illustration as background for a fairy story,I love it.
