Rufous

One of the best things to do is to paint from my own source material. A photograph captures the bird but a painting adds its essence. I think it helps the photographer to really connect with the subject. The bright colours are always a challenge in watercolour and I got totally lost in those chest feathers. From a photograph taken in puerto allegre in Brazil.
