A beautiful painting and it’s done absolutely beautifully. Everything about it is so good, the rust on the gate is a brilliant touch, the depth is so good , it seems to go back into the distance forever, brilliant.

What an excellent painting Richard. Nature as it should be. The bushes (left) and trees (right) help 'contain' the view and the rust on the gate leads the eye to the distance. We'll thought out 👍

Thanks everyone for all the positive comments. I was just out for a walk and went past this gate and saw the potential. It was only when I looked at the photo at home I noticed Hoad monument in the distance.
