This was a Christmas gift I just had to paint! I loved the velvety textures and the negative shapes. I decided to use pastel pencils for their intensity of colour, soft texture and ability to render fine detail. This one will probably be next year's Christmas card image. Usually I'm on the last minute doing one but this year I'm well ahead of myself for once.
