Splitting Hares! by Rose-Mary Hagger
Sometimes a painting takes on a mind of its own! I wanted to capture the energy of three wild hares using loose, wet-on-wet washes balanced with quick dry-brush marks for their fur. As it unfolded, a little story emerged: the middle hare secured the carrot, while the other two are quietly calculating their next move. Hence the title—Splitting Hares!
