A really good portrait Ron, super fleshtones and brushwork

Thank you Heather.

This is really well done Ron. I love the soft transitions in the flesh tones on the skin. I also like the slightly far away gaze in the eyes which makes the viewer wonder what she is thinking. The necklace details are also well observed. Great work. Have you ever had a go at painting still lives? I only mention it because I think the skills that you are showing with your portraits I think would also lend themselves very well to a still life i.e those soft variations in tones and good observation etc.

This is so good Ron, I love the green background, it makes the complexion glow.

Excellent Ron.

This is so well painted Ron. Love the skin tones, her hair and even her necklace. Also great use of light and shadow.

Lovely portrait, beautifully painted.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments. David, I haven’t done many still life paintings but perhaps it’s something I should try.

A beautiful portrait and painted really well.

Lovely portrait, Ron - I agree with the comments about skin tones and the faraway look in her eyes... very well done.

Oil on paper, 9x12in. Another of my practice portraits, this time my favourite sitter. Most of it was done from life, using a photo to better judge the position and proportion of the main features. Lighting was fairly strong which I’ve subdued slightly in places.
