Oil on canvas, 18x18in. A scene captured on a local river during that golden hour when the sun is going down. Fortunately the sun was shining directly on a small tree on a rocky outcrop in a shallow part of the river. The painting was a challenge in capturing the mid-ground shallows with the submerged rocks and branches and then to merge them with the reflections from the opposite bank. The sunlight not only highlighted the tree foliage but the sediment in the shallows.
