Ron, this is beautiful, so peaceful with the choice of palette. You’ve really caught the atmosphere of the place, which I love. We are hoping to sty in the area sometime in September.

This is lovely! Love the movement in the water and the distant mountains.

Couldn't agree with Marjorie more. This is beautiful.

Lovely painting 🖼

A beautiful scene painted beautifully, it’s excellent Ron.

A beauty Ron…..lovely part of Scotland.

Beautifully painted. Agree lovely palette and so peaceful.

Lovely Ron.

Too good for a dubious looking canvas - hope it survives, but they can usually be re-lined if the worst comes to the worst. I only say this because I believe we deserve the best we can get: and it repays the outlay in the end. Still - "given" a canvas: I wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth either. I was asking on the forum the other day how many oil painters employ glazes, and here we have one who does, and to great effect.

Thank you very much, all, for your fantastic comments. It’s a part of Scotland that I loved to visit and almost moved there. Hope the canvas survives as I can’t use the wedges.

Yes I love this Ron. It looks finished to me.

Oil on canvas, 38 x 115cm. I was given a dubious looking canvas which was thin cotton on a reasonable stretcher. The subject was from a photo I had taken a few years ago and one I did as my first studio oil painting. I may revisit the mid ground landscape with another blue glaze to even up the value. It was good practice anyway.
