Intriguing painting Roger.

I think it's a fascinating painting, Roger, with some marvellous detail. The banister is simply superb, as are all the architectural features. I really like the sense of space you've managed to develop, and I can't help being reminded of "Psycho" with the mysterious figure at the top of the stairs. The house, of course, is much nicer. I'm off to look at your gallery if this is not one of your favourites. A most eye-catching image. Bri

Your many paintings of Basia at home are always interesting to examine, Roger, with your great eye for detail. This is no exception. There is one small part which I can't "read" and it's the figure going up the stairs - the head is not working for me. Is it intentionally ambiguous?

ELo Marjorie...Basia's looking up...head tilted backwards but no detail...just a shape and yes, intentional. Good to see you again and your comments are always welcome. Hope you are well!

Another intriguing and excellent work. Worth the effort.

Thankyou Roger, I am indeed well and hope you are too, I remember you said you weren't too well a while ago. As for Basia, I was assuming she was looking to the left, head bowed.

Not one of my favourites...the stairs were a nightmare...I tried intuition, observation, measuring and arithmetic, logic and lost more hours than listening to the pros and cons of brexit since that miserable election took place.....painted from life for my Trouble and Strife who never complains about the time spent....just being there! Oil on canvas 80cmx50cm
